General Dentistry

When it comes to staying on top of your good oral health, visiting your dentist regularly is key. Examinations and cleanings twice each year will help ensure you and your entire family enjoy healthy smiles for years to come. How long has it been since your last examination?

At Amoskeag Urgent Dental Care of New Hampshire, you can come in to see our dentists even when your situation is not an emergency. Many of our patients have come to us when they were experiencing an urgent dental situation and have been pleasantly surprised to find that we can fulfill most of general dentistry needs as well.

Our entire dental team looks forward to getting to know you and providing top-notch urgent and non-urgent care to you and your entire family!

The Health of Your Mouth Impacts Your Entire Body

If your mouth isn’t healthy, you are putting your entire body at risk. Many studies have shown a link between gum disease and heart disease, stroke, and certain types of cancer.

You might be a diligent brusher and flosser, careful to follow the recommended twice-per-day minimum. But the truth is that no matter how much you brush and floss, you cannot remove all the plaque and bacteria from your teeth like our hygienists can. They have special tools that can get into the smallest nooks and crannies of your mouth, which you simply cannot reach.

Coming in to our office twice each year enables our doctors to stay one step ahead of problems, such as the early signs of decay. When it comes to dentistry, treating problems sooner rather than later is almost always less invasive—and less expensive.

Healthy Gums Mean Healthy Teeth

You can’t have healthy teeth unless you have healthy gums. And the only way to know for sure your gums are healthy is to visit your dentist regularly. Gum disease can often start with no symptoms at all, so people are unaware they even have it.

If you have bleeding when you brush or floss, this could be a sign that you are in the early stages of gum disease. Other signs to look for include swollen gums or chronic bad breath. Gum disease in its early stages is called gingivitis, and it must be treated by your dentist or it will get worse.

If gum disease is so severe that there are pockets around your teeth, you are at an advanced stage of the disease called periodontitis. This is a serious condition that can undermine the health of your entire jawbone. It can also lead to tooth loss.

Introduce Your Youngest Family Members to the Dentist

Bringing children to the dentist from an early age promotes good oral health. It also tends to lessen anxiety over the dentist.

We would love to see your kids in the dental chair as soon as their first teeth erupt. We can show you how to make sure they start practicing good oral care habits from an early age.

As a courtesy, we will check on your insurance benefits before you even get to the office. We want to make sure you maximize your insurance coverage so you can get the dental treatment you need. We also offer in-house and financing payment options to help make treatment affordable.

We know that sitting in the dentist chair can be unnerving, especially when you are not sure what to expect.

We will do everything we can to ensure that your time in the dental chair is as free of stress and pain as possible. If you are getting a local anesthetic, we will apply a numbing agent to your gums beforehand so you won’t feel it.

If needed, oral sedation medications may also be available to patients who need some extra help to feel comfortable while in the chair.

Absolutely! We are a full-service general and cosmetic dentistry practice. We offer all forms of preventive and restorative treatment for your entire family.

For your convenience, we also offer extended hours into the evenings and we are also open on Saturdays.
